Penelope Niven, author of Thornton Wilder: A Life (Harper, 2012), will discuss her biography on Thornton Wilder as part of the 2013 Open Books lecture series. Presented by Theatre for a New Audience, this unique speaker series turns a spotlight on authors of exciting recent books about the theater. Curated by Jonathan Kalb (TFANA Literary Advisor and Resident Artist), Open Books is a program of free public lectures featuring the critical and scholarly voices behind some of the best books newly published in the theater field. Creators of new knowledge about theater share their discoveries and insights, and audiences get privileged access to a vital, dynamic and indispensable arena of learning.
