The Thornton Wilder Society invites proposals for papers at the 2017 Comparative Drama Conference. (Submissions required by November 30, 2016.)
The Comparative Drama Conference (April 6-8, 2017 in Orlando)
To commemorate the first Broadway revival in twenty years of Hello, Dolly! (starring Bette Midler), the Thornton Wilder Society invites papers on the musical and/or its dramatic predecessors The Matchmaker and The Merchant of Yonkers. The Society also welcomes papers on any musicalization of Wilder’s works such as All about Us (Kander and Ebb’s musical based on The Skin of Our Teeth), the Our Town opera or the 1955 television musical version starring Frank Sinatra. The Society encourages graduate students as well as established scholars to submit 500 word proposals and C.V.s to Park Bucker at psbucke@uscsumter.edu<mailto:psbucke@uscsumter.edu> by November 30, 2016.
